Black Eyed Susan

I'm really love this "Black Eyed Susan Floral Corner from Jess at Floppy Latte.  She has all of her stamps at Stitchy Bear Stamps and a lot of them are gorgeous corner ones like this one.
I'm using it for my DT creation this week and our challenge at One Stitch at a Time is

Music or a Song

This week at One Stitch at a Time the challenge is:
Music or a Song
I chose this gorgeous image from Kaz at Stitchy Bear Stamps called "Floral Swirl" and colored it with copics.  I found some music note paper I've had forever and just embellished with some turquoise ribbon.  I really can't remember where I got the sentiment from but it does seem to mesh with the theme.  Can't wait to check out everyone's creations this week and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT.

BOO!!

I'm not usually too much of a halloween fan but I do really like this cute image from
Reeces Scrap Pieces at Stitchy Bear Stamps.  It was very easy to create with.  I used copics to color and the cat charm actually came from a bottle of wine.
This is my DT Creation for One Stitch at a Time this week.
The challenge is "BOO"--now how easy is that!

Butterflies or Buttons

I love the challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time
BUTTERFLIES OR BUTTONS
How easy is that, and of course I had to chose butterflies for my creation.
I'm using an image from Hope Jacare at Stitchy Bear Stamps and I thought I'd
throw in a few photos of the 'Butterfly Garden' at the
Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
I took my Grand Daughter this summer and have to say it's just gorgeous, we had a wonderful time.

BINGO!!!

This is a very gothic image from Kaz over at Stitchy Bear Stamps.  I've used it for our "BINGO" challenge this week at One Stitch at a Time.  You have to have a straight line that goes either way through the middle.  I chose a  Die Cut, Digi and Ribbon.
I made the pins myself and colored the "Gothic Girl" image with copics.

Autumn Leaves

I love this image from Stitchy Bear Stamps--just the perfect "Fall" image, especially now that our leaves are starting to fall, here in Manitoba,  and the geese are starting to raft south. As I'm not a huge winter and snow fan, so I sure hope that Fall lasts a really long time.  I tend to somewhat semi hibernate during the really cold months.  Anyways, our challenge is AUTUMN at One Stitch at a Time this week, so lets see some gorgeous fall colors.

A Fan and Faux Silk

I hope you're all enjoying your summer, for those of you that
have summer at this time of year that is.
We've had some scorchers here in Manitoba and I'm hoping it'll continue for a while longer.
I have a FAN CARD tutorial for you, with a twist,
I've used the FAUX SILK technique as well.

 I can't remember where I got the
initial pattern from, surfing around somewhere I'm sure.
So, start by printing out the template below onto cardstock.
(Just right click on it and either save it to your computer or print out the image)
Cut out all the pieces like so...........
Now, to do the faux silk, you just cut out a piece of tissue paper, plain or patterned.  Scrunch it up then smooth it out--it should have wrinkles, use a glue stick to glue it to one of the fan pieces.
Then cut around the edges
Continue for all the pieces, then put a small hole in the bottom of each piece one.  I've joined mine together with a pearl brad, but you can use ribbon with a nice bow as well.
I decided to make mine quite simple, some other suggestions are to use design paper on your card stock, if you don't want to go with the faux silk design.  Also, you can stamp on the tissue paper or directly onto your cardstock.
For the image on this fan I've used one of my favorites from the Prairie Fairy Shop
There you have it!!!
I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and I so look forward to seeing what you create
and here's hoping you continue to have a great summer.
